Asus has hosted the event, which international overclockers team was tasked to check the frequency potential of Core i7-7700K processor with the new motherboard Asus ROG Maximus IX Apex based on Intel Z270.   The highest frequency in the single-core Core i7-7700K operation was 7384 MHz.  By the way, with four active cores and Hyper-Threading CPU worked without load at a frequency of 7328 MHz. The RAM overclocked to DDR4-5041 mode.  In total, the event 8 world records and 13 first places occupied .   American FUGGER shared his predictions for the overclocking potential of Core i7-7700K .He believes that at a voltage of 1.3 V with a good air cooler processor can be overclocked to 5.0 GHz frequency  the water block  will raise for another 200-300 MHz, the phase transition system will accelerate to 5.4-5.8 GHz, "Cascade" will enable cross abroad 6 GHz and liquid nitrogen is subject to the activity of all cores and Hyper-Threading will set the ceiling for most overclocking CPU load at around 6.8 GHz.
