The company Eset Software declares about new Eset NOD32 version, it is a software for protection from harmful threats, connected with viruses and others malware. Now NOD32 is completely compatible with OS new generation Windows Vista, in which, as is known, antiviruses interaction methods is considerably changed with the OS core and different modules. Let us note that Eset company became one of the first antiviruses developers, which proposed the final antivirus solution for this platform. Other two most important improvements are related with new category working “potentially undesirable programs”, and with significant technology development of fight with rootkits. In this case, new version completely inherited such important consumer characteristics of NOD32 antivirus as the highest effectiveness of proactive protection and simple tastes to system resources, that makes antivirus work practically imperceptible.   Addition of new category “potentially undesirable programs” is due to constantly growing demand for protection software from advertising modules, and other programs, which interfere user and slows down system work, but, for juridical reasons, it cannot be considered harmful and automatically be removed from computer. Thanks to extended antivirus tuning possibilities, user can independently select scenario of antivirus actions during detection of such programs. Furthermore, now user can include tracking by antivirus, keyboard monitors and others “the potentially unsafe programs”, widely utilized by hackers. Recently increased propagation of so called rootkits. Their action is based on interception of calls and modification in low level system functions OS (Windows API).
